Hi, my name is Shadow!![]()
I'm a 4-year-old black Lab staying in a shelter with my dad in California. We've been together since I was a puppy, and we're each other's constant companions as we navigate homelessness and work toward finding permanent housing.![]()
One day at the shelter, I ran through a doorway just as the door was closing, and it slammed onto the tip of my tail. I was in a lot of pain, and my dad could see that I was badly hurt.![]()
He immediately wrapped my tail and did his best to keep the wound clean. When it wasn't healing the way he'd hoped, he knew I needed veterinary care and started searching for help.![]()
That's when he found Feeding Pets of the Homeless.![]()
My dad completed an Emergency Veterinary Care application, and within two days, I was at a veterinarian getting the care I needed.![]()
Thankfully, there was some good news. Although I had a deep wound on my tail, I didn't need stitches. The veterinarian cleaned and bandaged my injury and prescribed antibiotics to help me heal.![]()
Now I'm feeling like myself again and back where I belong, right by my dad's side. ![]()
Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $523 toward my care.![]()
Your support helps pets like me receive veterinary care and stay with the people who love us most.![]()
Lend a paw to help the next pet in need.
