Success Story: GG
GG, an 11-year-old female Pit Bull terrier had been hit by a car and was very shaky. Her owner is a woman who has been homeless and living in her car for the past six months. She is employed and receives food stamps. She learned about Feeding Pets of the Homeless when she took her dog, GG into a veterinary hospital. We verified her homelessness with a neighborhood Independent Living organization. We approved an exam.
After the examination, the veterinarian called our Case Manager and recommended x-rays, an ultrasound, mini panel of bloodwork, medications including pain and antibiotics, as well as a medicated shampoo. We assisted with $523 and received $130 in discounts.
