🎉 Celebrating 18 years of keeping people and pets together! In 2008, Feeding Pets of the Homeless began with a simple but powerful belief: no one should have to choose between caring for themselves and caring for their beloved animal companion.Eighteen years later, that belief has grown into a nationwide movement.Together, we have:🐾 Helped provide veterinary care to more than 34,300 pets🐾 Distributed more than 2.7 million pounds of pet food and supplies🐾 Contributed more than $7.4 million toward veterinary care🐾 Partnered with more than 2,000 veterinary hospitals🐾 Reached people and pets in all 50 states including Washington, D.C. and Canada.Behind every number is a story of love, loyalty and hope. A pet receiving lifesaving care. A veteran keeping their trusted companion by their side. A family finding comfort during an uncertain time. A person experiencing homelessness being reminded that they and their pet have not been forgotten. For 18 years, our donors, volunteers, veterinary partners, pet food donation sites, community organizations, board members and staff have made this work possible. Every donation, partnership, pet food drive and act of compassion has helped protect the powerful bond between people and their pets.As we celebrate this milestone, we are grateful for how far we have come and inspired by the work still ahead.Thank you for being part of our first 18 years. Here’s to continuing to provide help, healing and hope for many years to come. petsofthehomeless.org ... See MoreSee Less

Hi, my name is Rukkus.I'm an 18-month-old Husky and Pit Bull mix living on the streets with my mom in Sacramento, California. We are currently experiencing homelessness, but we face each day together. My mom takes such good care of me, and I love making her smile with my playful personality. Then one day, I got very sick.I stopped eating and drinking, had severe diarrhea, and all I wanted to do was sleep. My mom was terrified I might have parvovirus and worried that without treatment, she could lose me.A friend told her about Feeding Pets of the Homeless. She went online, completed an Emergency Veterinary Care application, and after speaking with a case manager, I was approved to see a veterinarian. The veterinarian examined me and ruled out parvovirus. I received treatment to help relieve my symptoms and keep my condition from getting worse. I was sent withon my way with medication, plenty of rest, and my mom by my side.Today, I'm feeling like myself again. I'm back to playing, exploring, and making my mom smile every day.Feeding Pets of the Homeless contributed $1,283 toward my care.Your support helps pets like me receive emergency veterinary care and stay with the people who love us most.🐾 Lend a paw to help the next pet in need. ...
